Family & Residential
Living Independently with Support - A Home. A Community. A Sense of Belonging.
At MSDC, our Residential Services program provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a safe, supportive environment to live as independently as possible.
We believe every person deserves a place to call home - where dignity, inclusion, and personal choice come first.
Our Approach
MSDC’s Residential Services are designed around individual goals, family collaboration, and community connection.
Each home provides 24/7 support from trained staff who encourage growth while respecting independence.
We focus on:
Person-Centered Living: Each resident’s routines, preferences, and goals shape their daily life.
Skill Building: Support in cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and personal care to promote independence.
Health & Wellness: Medication management, transportation to appointments, and healthy lifestyle coaching.
Community Inclusion: Opportunities to work, volunteer, and participate in local activities.
Family Partnership: Ongoing communication and coordination with guardians and loved ones.
Our Homes
MSDC operates several comfortable, accessible homes throughout Marshall, Starke, and surrounding counties.
Each home is unique - from shared living spaces to semi-independent apartments - but all share the same purpose: to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents thrive.
Our support levels include:
24-Hour Supervised Living – continuous staff presence and individualized assistance
Supported Living – flexible support for individuals living with greater independence
Respite Care – short-term stays that provide relief for families or caregivers
What Makes MSDC Different
Experienced, caring staff dedicated to promoting choice and respect.

Integration with MSDC’s full continuum of services, including employment, day programming, and community engagement.
Collaboration with state and local partners to ensure consistent, quality care.
Residential Services are available to adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities who qualify for state-funded or private support programs.
Our team works closely with families and case managers to identify the best housing options based on each individual’s needs and goals.
Did You Know?
Family members can sometimes be paid to support their loved one through state-approved waiver programs. MSDC can help you understand your options and walk you through the process.
