Second Chance Furnishings

Second Chance Furnishings, a program of Marshall-Starke Development Center (MSDC), provides gently used furniture and household items to individuals and families in need - helping turn empty living spaces into safe, comfortable, dignified homes.

We believe everyone deserves a place to sit, sleep, gather, and feel at home.

What We Do

Second Chance Furnishings connects donated furniture and household essentials with people rebuilding their lives. Through our structured referral and donation process, we ensure items are safe, clean, and ready to be used immediately.

We Provide:

  • Essential household furniture at no cost to eligible families.

  • Support for individuals transitioning out of crisis, homelessness, or unstable housing.

  • A sustainable, community-driven way to repurpose gently used items and reduce landfill waste.

  • A convenient, tax-deductible donation option for households and businesses.

How the Process Works

For Referring Agencies & Clients

  1. Partner agencies submit a referral with client contact information and household needs.

  2. MSDC staff contact the client to schedule an appointment to “shop” for available items.

  3. Clients must bring their voucher and arrange transportation for item pickup.

Delivery Option:
Delivery may be available within Plymouth city limits for a
$15 fee. Exceptions may be considered based on need.
